On Friday morning (AEDT), Tottenham had the chance to dispel the notion it is a one-man team which revolves around Gareth Bale. Spurs failed dismally losing 4-1 to Inter Milan in the Europa League, minus the suspended Bale. The north London side still progresses to the next round after winning 3-0 at home, but it is looking more and more like it is too reliant on the Welsh winger.

The good news for Spurs fans is that he’ll be back at White Hart Lane on Sunday when Tottenham hosts Fulham . It’ll be a reunion of sorts for former Cottagers Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey who now step out in a Hotspur uniform. Andre Villas-Boas will need to make the most of his deep squad, too, given his side has just three days to back up.

Prior to their 3-2 away loss to Liverpool last weekend, Spurs had solidified third position on the table. It was their first league loss since December 9, which came on their previous visit Merseyside against Everton. Their unbeaten streak featured eight wins and four draws .

These teams met at the start of December with Tottenham breaking a 0-0 half-time deadlock by scoring three goals in the second half, including a double to Jermain Defoe. Spurs have won the last six Premiership matches against Fulham, including a 2-0 victory in the corresponding match at White Hart Lane last season.
