NSW player wins $15 million Oz Lotto prize

Wednesday 13 March, 2013 - Thirteen is now a lucky number for one Kiama local after being told on March 13 that game 13 on their Oz Lotto entry had won them the entire division one jackpot prize pool!

The registered player was unaware of their $15,780,632.65 windfall until they were contacted by a NSW Lotteries official this morning.

“Well I hope this isn’t a prank call,” the surprised winner said after being informed they were now a multi-millionaire.

“I’m absolutely flabbergasted! I’m going to have to come down off the ceiling!” they exclaimed.

The regular lotto player was understandably so shocked by the news, they couldn’t really say what they were going to do with their $15 million prize.

“I will look forward to a European holiday later this year. I’ll be able to splash out!” the winner laughed.

The winning entry was purchased from Kiama Fair Newsagency, Shop 4, 135 Terralong Street in Kiama.

Owner Mark Gladman said he was thrilled that he had sold the winning Oz Lotto entry.

“It’s fabulous to think that someone who came in and bought their ticket here is now more than $15 million richer,” Mr Gladman said.

“We’ve sold a few winning Lucky Lotteries tickets but this the first time we’ve ever had a multi-million dollar winner.

“Let’s hope a few more locals can be just as lucky as this person!” Mr Gladman added.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 995 on 12 March 2013 were 3, 38, 21, 10, 28, 40 and 8. The supplementaries were 19 and 42.

Oz Lotto will offer a $2 million division one prize in next Tuesday’s draw.
