Monday 11 March, 2013 - It’s uncanny! A young family is packing their bags to move into a new home in Brighton thanks to a $404,818.02 division one TattsLotto win on the weekend!
The winning father was contacted by a Tatts official with the news today and he couldn’t conceal his shock at the timing.
“No way…no way…You won’t believe this – we bought that ticket in Brighton on Saturday when we were there looking at real estate,” he explained, his voice shaking.
“My wife said, ‘Let’s go buy a TattsLotto ticket’ because some of the house prices were so high. So we stopped at a newsagency in Brighton and bought a ticket…I’m blown away. I cannot believe this!”
The man said he’s overwhelmed they can now buy the family home in Brighton that they’ve dreamed of.
“It’s incredible. I’ve played TattsLotto for years and you don’t think twice that you’ll actually win.”
The winning 50-game QuickPick TattsLotto entry was purchased from Middle Brighton Newsagency, 75-77 Church Street in Brighton. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.
Five TattsLotto wins in Victoria
Along with the well-timed Brighton win, there were four other division one winning TattsLotto entries purchased in Victoria on the weekend.
Two registered entries were purchased from Normanby News & Lotto in Thornbury, and Raymond Street Lotto in Sale. These winners have yet to answer their phones to Tatts’ official call.
Two further unregistered entries were sold from Reservoir News & Lotto in Reservoir, and Central Lotto in Altona Meadows. Tatts is unable to contact these winners as they are not Tatts Card members.
Tatts Spokesperson Zoe Knobel said Tatts is keen to speak with the four remaining winners today.
“Given it’s a public holiday in Victoria today, these winners may be taking the opportunity to sleep in or are away and unavailable to answer our phone call; chances are they have no idea they won!” Ms Knobel said.
“We encourage the winners to check their entries and contact Tatts directly to claim their first division prize of more than $400,000, particularly the holders of unregistered tickets. We don’t have their details to get in touch with the good news because these entries were not registered to a Tatts Card.”
Throughout Australia, there were 10 entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $404,818.02. Along with the five Victorian entries, there were also two winning entries purchased in Tasmania, along with one each in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
“We’re likely to see even more than 10 winners around the country in TattsLotto’s $25 million Superdraw on 23 March! Tickets are on sale now from all Tatts outlets and online at Tatts.com,” Ms Knobel added.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3301 on 9 March 2013 were 12, 44, 28, 10, 45 and 7 with the supplementary numbers 35 and 3.
