Two time defending champion I’m Themightyquinn  can become just the third horse to win the Inter Dominion Final on more than two occasions if successful in the Menangle feature on March 3. In the 77 year history of the series, only Blacks A Fake (2006-08, 2010) and Our Sir Vancelot (1997-1999) have won three times but trainer Gary Hall will be determined to see his star pacer added to the list. Having suffered a series of other big race defeats in New South Wales and Victoria, the West Australian star still has plenty of mockers in the Eastern states, but put in a brilliant performance to win his heat by almost 25m at Gloucester Park on February 16 to ensure he goes into this contest on top form.

His biggest challenge could come from across the Tasman, with two time New Zealand Cup winner Terror To Love  the one to beat after easily accounting for his two rivals in their Inter Dominion heat at Alexandra Park. Fellow Kiwi pacer Mah Sish  has won four of its past five starts and is has drawn perfectly in gate one, while Victoria Cup winner Caribbean Blaster  will spearhead the local contingent alongside I’m Themightyquinn.
