Winning streak continues for Far North Queensland!

Monday 25 February, 2013 - They say lightning never strikes twice but a Cairns newsagency has sold its second winning Saturday Gold Lotto entry in less than four months.

A local man was the latest winner scoring a division one share in Saturday Gold Lotto’s $4 million draw and only broke the news to his wife this morning with a bunch of flowers!

“When I gave her the flowers she said to me ‘what, have you won lotto?’ and I said yes!” he exclaimed.

The winning entry was purchased from Raintrees Newsagency, Shop 24, Raintrees Shopping Centre, 1 Koch Street in Cairns.

Last November, the same newsagency sold a $1 million Saturday Gold Lotto winning ticket to a trio of sisters.

The owners of Raintrees Newsagency are hoping the lucky streak will continue for their customers.

“We’d love to make it third time lucky and sell a winning entry in this week’s $20 million Powerball jackpot,” the owner said.

Throughout Australia, there were eight entries that won a first division share of Saturday Gold Lotto’s $4 million division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $512,531.51. Along with the winning entry in Cairns another was purchased in Queensland, three winning tickets were bought in Victoria, two in Western Australia, and one in New South Wales.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto, draw 3297, on 23 February 2013 were 8, 6, 13, 39, 29 and 34 with the supplementary numbers 20 and 9.
