Monday 25 February, 2013 - A builder from Somerville won a $512,531.51 share of TattsLotto on the weekend, and today said he’ll be shouting the bar to celebrate!
The Local man said he had already started celebrating before receiving the official first division winner’s phone call from Tatts this morning.
“I’m havin’ a beer now,” he said.
“I found out I’d won when I checked my TattsLotto ticket yesterday, and I’ve already given a nice bottle of wine to the newsagent to thank him.
“The first thing I said to him when he told me I had the winning ticket was “F’ off!” he laughed as he censored the word.
“I’m a builder, that’s just how we talk. Today I’ll go down and shout the boys in the bar – everyone already knows I won.”
The family man in his 50s said he’s planning to use the money to help set his three daughters up for life.
“I’ll help them own their own homes and help out with one of their weddings which is coming up this year,” he said.
“I’ll treat my wife too, and see if she might be able to retire now.
“I’ll use the money sensibly, I just want to be able to share it with family and help them out, that’s just the sort of bloke I am.
“But I won’t give up my job – if I don’t keep working I’ll die, fair dinkum,” he said.
The winning 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased from Somerville Newsagency, Shop 24 in Somerville Plaza, Eramosa Road West, Somerville.
Throughout Australia, there were eight entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $512,531.51. Along with the Somerville entry, there were two more winning tickets purchased in Victoria, two each in Queensland and Western Australia and one in New South Wales.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3297 on 23 February 2013 were 8, 6, 13, 39, 29 and 34 with the supplementary numbers 20 and 9.
