Tassie Man Collects $2 Million After Win On Horses

Friday 15 February, 2013 - A young man from Launceston won a $2.2 million first division prize in TattsLotto’s $20 million Superdraw on the weekend!

The winner in his 20s was unaware of his good fortune until he finally answered his mobile to a call from a Tatts official.

“I’ve missed a few phone calls this week, I didn’t realise Tatts was trying to get a hold of me,” the winner said, letting the news sink in.

The man purchased his entry in TattsLotto’s $20 million Superdraw after he had a small wagering win with TattsBet online. He used some of that money to purchase a TattsLotto entry from Tatts.com online.

“I only bet every now and again so after I had a bit of a win on the horses with TattsBet, I figured I’d buy a TattsLotto ticket because a Superdraw was on that weekend,” he explained.

The man said he already has a few ideas for how to spend his first division windfall of $2,222,222.23.

“My partner and I are actually looking at houses right now, so this prize money will be put towards our own home. We’ll also go on holiday overseas,” the winner said.

The winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased online from Tatts.com.

Throughout Australia, there were nine entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s $20 million Superdraw division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $2,222,222.23. Along with the winning ticket purchased online, there were two purchased in Queensland, two in Western Australia, one each in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto’s $20 million Superdraw, draw 3293, on 9 February 2013 were 41, 30, 29, 8, 33 and 36 with the supplementary numbers 23 and 9.
