Mildura couple to build “dream home” with $1.4 million prize!

Monday 18 February, 2013 - A Mildura couple are over the moon after winning a $1.4 million first division prize in TattsLotto on the weekend!

The winning woman told a Tatts official this afternoon that she was shocked when she first heard the news she and her husband had become millionaires.

“When I found out we had all six winning numbers I felt sick!” she exclaimed.

“I couldn’t, and wouldn’t, believe it at first.”

The winners know exactly what they’d like to do with their $1,402,751.97 windfall.

“We’ll build our dream home,” the winning woman said.

“It will be open-plan living, with lots of space and big windows.”

Despite having a cool $1.4 million in the bank, the pair aren’t going to give up work but they’ll take a well-deserved break.

“I’m a workaholic so I won’t be giving up my job,” the woman said.

“We will take a nice holiday though and put our feet up for a little while.”

The winning 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased from Deakin Lucky Lotto, 204 Deakin Avenue in Mildura.

Tatts spokesperson Zoe Knobel said this Tatts outlet has had a particularly high number of winners in the past.

“Deakin Lucky Lotto has now sold 19 division one winning lotto entries across TattsLotto, Oz Lotto and Super 66 games in the 30 years since 1982,” Ms Knobel said.

“Their last division one win was in 2004 so it’s great to see they’ve had another big lotto win this year.”

Throughout Australia, there were three entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $1,402,751.97. Along with the Mildura entry, the two other winning tickets were also purchased in Victoria from outlets in Strathdale and Fawkner.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3295 on 16 February 2013 were 34, 16, 18, 1, 17 and 6 with the supplementary numbers 33 and 13.
