Duty free $2.22 million Lotto prize for Sydney Airport worker!

Tuesday 12 February, 2013 - A man who works at the Sydney Domestic Airport Terminal has now claimed his $2.22 million Saturday Lotto first division prize, duty free!

The man purchased his entry in Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw from FMSD Qantas Terminal Newslink and won a total prize of $2,222,234.23 on the weekend.

The winner in his 60s was still coming to terms with the news when he spoke with a NSW Lotteries official today.

“I’m past retirement age now so I was already thinking about when I could give up work,” he said.

“I don’t think I’ll continue to work much longer now,” the tradesman added.

“I’d like to be able to help my children with some of the money, but there’s nothing particular I want for myself.

“My wife might have some ideas for how to spend it,” he laughed.

The winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased from FMSD Qantas Terminal Newslink, Shop 67 in Qantas Domestic Terminal 2, Airport Drive, Mascot.

Throughout Australia, there were nine entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw division one prize pool on the weekend, each worth $2,222,222.23. Along with the winning ticket purchased in New South Wales, there were two purchased in Queensland, two in Western Australia, one each in Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory, with one also purchased online from Tatts.com.
