Can a Shepparton pensioner find love after winning TattsLotto?

Thursday 5 December, 2013 - A local pensioner has come forward to claim his TattsLotto prize of more than $500,000 in Shepparton!

The man in his late 70s checked his ticket today and discovered he was the mystery winner the town’s been talking about.

“You know, I always thought I was gonna win!” the man exclaimed to a Tatts official today.

“I’ve been playing TattsLotto for 25 years so I suppose it’s about bloody time!” he laughed.

“At my age I can’t dance or jump up and down but I’m very happy.”

The winner is yet to decide how to spend his first division windfall of $506,156.04, but thinks it might even help his love life.

“I won’t have any trouble getting a woman with a few bob behind me!” he laughed.

The man purchased his winning 50-game QuickPick TattsLotto entry from Lucky Lovell’s Market Place, Shop 27 at 110 Benalla Road in Shepparton. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

It was a TattsLotto hat-trick for Shepparton in the weekend’s draw, with the town claiming three division one prizes, each worth $506,156.04.

All three of the winning tickets were purchased from the same chain of Tatts outlets, with one from Lucky Lovell’s on Wyndham Street, and two from Lucky Lovell’s Market Place on Benalla Road.

The other winning entry from Lucky Lovell’s Market Place was claimed by a local man who will pay off his mortgage with the prize money.

The third prize from Lucky Lovell’s at 246 Wyndham Street was claimed by a local couple who said it would enhance their lifestyle in retirement.

Owner of both Lucky Lovell’s outlets, Louise Lovell-Brown, said it’s great news for the community.

“It’s unbelievable! We’re so happy for our customers. To think that there were four TattsLotto wins in the state over the weekend, and three of them were in Shepparton is just amazing,” Mrs Lovell-Brown said.

Throughout Australia, there were eight entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool in draw 3377, each worth $506,156.04. Along with the three winning entries purchased in Shepparton, another was purchased in Glen Waverley in Victoria, while there were two purchased in South Australia and one each in New South Wales and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3377 on 30 November 2013 were 37, 24, 30, 45, 27 and 43 with the supplementary numbers of 21 and 22.
