Victoria's 2013 Lotto Hotspots revealed!

Monday 30 December, 2013 - Imagine starting the New Year off with a bang as one of the nation’s newest millionaires! One of TattsLotto’s most highly anticipated events is fast approaching with the $30 Million Megadraw on 4 January 2014.

With a massive $30 million up for grabs, wouldn’t it be nice to begin the New Year with a division one win and join those fortunate Victorians who have already experienced that winning feeling?

Ahead of TattsLotto’s $30 Million Megadraw, Tatts has revealed official statistics on lotto wins which occurred in the year spanning 1 December 2012 to 1 December 2013.

In the 12-months to 1 December 2013, Victorian players scored 122 division one prizes across all lotto products from Tatts, equating to more than $203 million in division one prize money!

The latest statistics released by Tatts reveal that the coveted title of ‘Victoria’s 2013 Lotto Hotspot Suburb’ has been awarded to Dandenong, where four (4) division one winning tickets were sold across all lotto games. Second place for ‘Victoria’s 2013 Lotto Hotspot Suburb’ is shared by Ballarat, Doncaster East, Shepparton and Melbourne CBD; suburbs which each sold three (3) division one winning tickets in 12-months.

Victoria’s 2013 Lotto Hotspot Region’ was awarded to Melbourne’s Southeastern suburbs, with a total of 27 first division prizes sold in the area, totalling $31.5 million. This is followed by Melbourne’s Northern suburbs with 22 division one lotto wins, ahead of Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs with 15, and the Goldfields region with 11 first division winners.

Along with the 122 division one winning lotto tickets purchased from Tatts retail outlets in Victoria, a further 15 winning tickets were purchased from Tatts.com online, equating to more than $68.6 million in first division prize money.

The highest value prize won in Victoria between 1 December 2012 and 1 December 2013 was an Oz Lotto prize worth $40 million won on a ticket purchased in Wantirna South.

Tatts spokesperson Elissa Lewis said that although Dandenong is the ‘Lotto Hotspot Suburb’ and Southeast Melbourne is the ‘Lotto Hotspot Region’ for Victoria, it does not mean that a ticket purchased in either of those areas has more chance of winning than any other ticket.

“Victoria has sold more division one lotto prizes in 12-months than any other state in Australia!” Ms Lewis said.

“It’s exciting to reveal where the most lotto wins occur each year, but it’s important to remember that every number on your ticket has an equal chance of being drawn, no matter where you buy your ticket,” she added.

“This year, 21 Australians began 2013 as winners, each scoring $1.4 million in TattsLotto’s $30 Million Megadraw. Five of those tickets were purchased in Victoria, so we hope to see many more Megadraw winners in the state on 4 January.

“Imagine the New Year’s resolutions you could achieve by winning a share in TattsLotto’s $30 million Megadraw on 4 January!” Ms Lewis said.

Don’t forget to register your Megadraw ticket to your Tatts Card to ensure Tatts can contact you should you be one of the fortunate division one winners.
