NSW Lotteries' 2013 Lotto Hotspots revealed!

Monday 30 December, 2013 - Imagine starting the New Year off with a bang as one of the nation’s newest millionaires!

One of NSW Lotteries’ most highly anticipated events is fast approaching with the $30 Million Megadraw on 4 January 2014.

With a massive $30 million up for grabs, wouldn’t it be nice to begin the New Year with a division one win and join those fortunate New South Wales players who have already experienced that winning feeling?

Ahead of the Saturday Lotto $30 Million Megadraw, NSW Lotteries has revealed official statistics on lotto wins which occurred in the year spanning 1 December 2012 to 1 December 2013.

In the 12-months to 1 December 2013, New South Wales and ACT players scored 105 division one prizes across all lotto products from NSW Lotteries, equating to more than $282 million in division one prize money!

The latest statistics released by NSW Lotteries reveal that the coveted title of ‘NSW Lotteries’ 2013 Lotto Hotspot’ has been awarded to postcode 2000 (Sydney CBD), where five (5) division one winning tickets were sold across all lotto games. Next was postcodes 2170 (Moorebank, Liverpool) and 2153 (Baulkham Hills, Winston Hills) with three (3) division one winning tickets each.

NSW Lotteries’ 2013 Lotto Hotspot Region’ was awarded to Southern and South West Sydney, with a total of 26 first division prizes sold in the area, totalling $56.6 million. This is followed closely by Western Sydney and Blue Mountains with 25 division one lotto wins, Central and Northern Sydney with 18 first division winners.

Along with the 105 division one winning lotto tickets purchased from NSW Lotteries outlets, a further six (6) winning tickets were purchased from Tatts.com online, equating to more than $9.3 million in first division prize money.

The highest value prize won in New South Wales between 1 December 2012 and 1 December 2013 was a Powerball prize worth $31 million in Sydney CBD.

NSW Lotteries’ hotspot data is based on division one wins between 1 December 2012 and 1 December 2013. The recent $50 million Powerball division one win on 26 December 2013 has put Dubbo’s postcode 2830 in a strong position for next year’s hotspot results!

Refer to full tables of Lotto Hotspot results below.

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Belinda McDougall said that although postcode 2000 is the ‘Lotto Hotspot’ and Southern and South West Sydney is the ‘Lotto Hotspot Region’ for NSW Lotteries, it does not mean that a ticket purchased in either of those areas has more chance of winning than any other ticket.

“It’s exciting to reveal where the most lotto wins occur each year, but it’s important to remember that every number on your ticket has an equal chance of being drawn, no matter where you buy your ticket,” Ms McDougall added.

“This year, 21 Australians began 2013 as winners, each scoring $1.4 million in Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw. Four of those tickets were purchased in New South Wales, so we hope to see many more Megadraw winners in the state on 4 January.

“Imagine the New Year’s resolutions you could achieve by winning a share in Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw on 4 January!” Ms McDougall said.

Don’t forget to register your Megadraw ticket to your Players Club Card to ensure NSW Lotteries can contact you should you be one of the fortunate division one winners.
