After 16 matches without a win, Melbourne Heart is a real chance to break a drought which stretches more than ten months. But Heart has to show some real ticker, with reports surfacing that embattled coach John Aloisi is about to be sacked and the club sold to interests linked with NRL franchise Melbourne Storm.
Phoenix has won the past three encounters in Wellington, but they are poor travellers. In fact, in Melbourne the Kiwi side is yet to win in four starts, with two 1-1 draws its best results. Heart’s two home wins were 1-0 in April last year and 2-1 in September 2009.
At least Wellington takes winning form into this battle of the potential wooden-spooners. A 1-0 upset over Sydney FC last Sunday ended their winless streak which dated back to Round 25 of last season.
