"Lucky ticket" nets $500,000 prize for Glen Waverley man!

Monday 2 December, 2013 - A man has won a first division TattsLotto prize of $506,156.04 from Kerrie Lotto News in Glen Waverley!

The winner in his 60s said he’s been a TattsLotto player for around 20 years, and said he had been playing with the same numbers for the last 12-months on his own “lucky ticket”.

“About a year ago there was a big Oz Lotto win of $40 million from Knox City Shopping Centre nearby so I went and bought a QuickPick from that outlet because I figured it was a lucky shop,” the winning man explained.

“That QuickPick ticket gave me a set of numbers that I kept playing every week, and now a year later I’ve won TattsLotto! So it looks like it really was a lucky ticket!

“I’m going to use this prize money to pay off my mortgage and travel with my wife. She was so excited when I found out I’d won TattsLotto. There were lots of tears.”

The winning 12-game TattsLotto entry was purchased from Kerrie Lotto News at 4 Kerrie Road in Glen Waverley.

This is the second major TattsLotto win Kerrie Lotto News has sold in just over 12-months, after selling a first division prize of $324,696.90 to a 10-member syndicate on 17 November 2012.

Along with the Melbourne winner, there were also three first division TattsLotto prizes won in Shepparton on the weekend!

The hat-trick of TattsLotto wins were purchased from the same chain of Tatts outlets, with one from Lucky Lovell’s on Wyndham Street, and two from Lucky Lovell’s Market Place on Benalla Road in Shepparton.

Owner of both Lucky Lovell’s outlets, Louise Lovell-Brown, said it’s great news for the community.

“It’s unbelievable! We’re so happy for our customers. To think that there were four TattsLotto wins in the state over the weekend, and three of them were in Shepparton is just amazing,” Mrs Lovell-Brown said.

“Shepparton has been struggling lately, and these three first division prizes will inject more than $1.5 million into the local economy, so it’s great for the town. What a Christmas it will be!”

Throughout Australia, there were eight entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool in draw 3377, each worth $506,156.04. Along with the four winning entries purchased in Victoria, while there were two purchased in South Australia and one each in New South Wales and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3377 on 30 November 2013 were 37, 24, 30, 45, 27 and 43 with the supplementary numbers of 21 and 22.

Oz Lotto is offering a $30 million jackpot tomorrow night and there’s $20 million up for grabs in Powerball on Thursday!
