Tuesday, 17 December 2013 - The mammoth $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot draw is taking place tonight, and retailers around the country have been run off their feet today keeping up with eager players buying a ticket for their chance to share in $70 million.
Spokesperson Elissa Lewis said the busiest sales period today will be between 5pm and 6pm, when around 3,000 tickets will be sold across the country every minute.
“With the high level of interest in tonight’s draw we anticipate that around one in every three Australian adults will purchase a ticket in the hope of winning $70 million,” Ms Lewis said.
“If only one player claims the entire $70 million jackpot in tonight’s Oz Lotto draw they will also claim the title of the single biggest lotto winner in Australian history.
“If the big prize eludes Oz Lotto hopefuls it will jackpot to an earth-shattering $110 million for next Tuesday’s draw on Christmas Eve!
“To participate in the draw, players have the option of selecting their own numbers, purchasing a QuickPick where the numbers are selected for them or sharing the cost of an entry by creating a syndicate with colleagues or family,” Ms Lewis added.
“With Christmas just around the corner, our players are imagining how winning Oz Lotto’s $70 million jackpot would change their lives and allow them to share their good fortune with those around them.
“Oz Lotto changes lives year-round, but winning the $70 million jackpot prize this festive season would be an extra special experience.”
The mammoth $70 million Oz Lotto draw will take place tonight, Tuesday, 17 December 2013 and it is anticipated that around one third of the Australian adult population will purchase an entry for the chance to share in $70 million.
