Both Manchester United  & Bayer Leverkusen  will be looking to book their place in the Champions League final 16 with a win in their crucial group A tie. While United are struggling in their domestic duties, they sit on top of their Champions League group, ahead of Leverkusen by 1 point. However, they are winless in their previous four Champions League away games & have won just three of their last 10 away games v German opposition.

Bayer Leverkusen however is sitting 2nd in the Bundesliga and have won each of their last eight Champions League group stage games at home. This notable home form has seen them through to the kockout stage in their last two campaigns, while they haven’t notched up a single away win. Their form against Manchester United is slightly less impressive though, being winless in their last five Champions League meetings and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in the process.

United Gaffer David Moyes will be hoping that key players Robin van Persie (groin) and Nemanja Vidic (concussion) can return to full fitness for the match, after missing United’s 2-2 draw v Cardiff City, though they are highly doubtful at this stage. The pair joins Shinji Kagawa (groin), Michael Carrick (Achilles) & Phil Jones (foot) on the growing Red Devils injury list. The most notable omission for Bayer Leverkusen is in-form winger Sidney Sam (thigh), who has scored seven league goals for the Germans.
