Tuesday 26 November, 2013 - Just days after the Lucky Lotteries $5 Jackpot smashed through the $30 million mark, the jackpot prize has been won!
A winning ticket purchased in the Sydney suburb of Leppington has scored the staggering jackpot prize of $30,375,000.00 in draw #956.
The registered winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said they were very shocked when NSW Lotteries contacted them today to inform them of their multi-million dollar win!
“All of my family will benefit!” the stunned winner exclaimed.
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Belinda McDougall said with the festive season upon us there’s no doubt this winner will have a cracker Christmas this year.
“It’s bound to be a very merry Christmas for the winner who has snatched the second largest Lucky Lotteries jackpot prize ever,” Ms McDougall said.
“Last week marked two years since this jackpot roll began after a woman from Sydney’s northern suburbs won the record jackpot prize amount of $38.1 million on 22 November 2011.
“Unlike lotto style games where the top prize is often shared between winners, as Lucky Lotteries is a draw lottery, the jackpot winner takes the lot!
“This means the jackpot prize can only be won by a unique Lucky Lotteries $5 Jackpot ticket number.”
The jackpot prize in the Lucky Lotteries $5 game is won when the selected jackpot ticket number has already won a cash prize in the same draw.
The winning ticket was purchased from Leppington Newsagency, 1469 Camden Valley Way in Leppington.
Leppington Newsagency owner Pradeep Ahluwalia was ecstatic to discover that his store had sold a winning Lucky Lotteries $5 Jackpot ticket worth more than $30 million.
“We’ve sold some winning tickets over the years but that’s the biggest prize we’ve ever had. I’m really happy for the winner,” Mr Ahluwalia said.
The Lucky Lotteries $5 Jackpot prize reverted to the base prize offer of $1,000,000 for draw 957.
