Friday 1 November, 2013 - A Melbourne woman has claimed a first division Powerball prize of $3 million from last night’s draw on Halloween!
The woman said becoming a multi-millionaire overnight spooked her and made her feel sick!
“I checked the winning numbers on the internet after the draw and at first I almost cried, then I was in shock, then I went into denial, and now I just feel ill!” the winner said.
“I’ve got butterflies in my stomach now thinking about how much this will change my life and other’s lives.”
The winner said she plans to fund her retirement with the $3 million windfall.
“I retired recently so I’ll look at how I can invest the prize money to provide for the years to come. I’ll be financially secure for life,” she said.
“I’ve dreamed of travelling Australia so I’ll be able to do that now, and I’ll share the prize money with some family members to improve their situations too.”
The Melbourne woman purchased her 12-game QuickPick Powerball ticket from Kingsville Lotto, 291 Geelong Road in Kingsville. She was the sole division one winner in the draw and has chosen to remain anonymous.
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 991 on 31 October 2013 were 36, 13, 28, 4, 34 and 17 and the Powerball was number 19.
There are more chances to win big with $22 million up for grabs tomorrow in TattsLotto’s $22 Million Superdraw! Tickets can be purchased at any Tatts outlet or online at Tatts.com.
