Wednesday 9 October, 2013 - In an exciting twist of fate, two couples in Bendigo are celebrating TattsLotto wins together as a family!
Tatts has discovered that the two division one winning TattsLotto entries purchased in Eaglehawk and Golden Square were bought independently by a pair of brothers-in-law!
The winner in his 60s who purchased his ticket from Golden Square Newsagency said he was blown away when he realised they’d both won $217,870.64 each.
“Well I hadn’t checked my TattsLotto ticket yet, and my sister came around very excited and said she’d won this division one prize,” the winner said.
“As soon as I looked at her ticket I realised we’d both been playing with the numbers Dad used before he died almost 20 years ago.
“So I said, ‘Hang on, I must have won TattsLotto too!’” the winner laughed.
“I didn’t know my brother-in-law had been playing with those numbers the whole time as well!
“It’s great. We’re all very happy. My wife and I will use the prize money to pay off our mortgage and take a holiday. It will be put to good use.
“I think Dad would be looking down and smiling on us right now.”
His brother-in-law, an Eaglehawk man in his 50s, purchased his $217,870.64 winning entry from Eaglehawk Authorised Newsagency, 27-29 High Street in Eaglehawk.
The Eaglehawk winner said he’d also pay off his mortgage and invest the prize money for when he and his wife retire.
Throughout Australia, there were 19 entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, each worth $217,870.64. Along with seven winning tickets purchased in Victoria, five winning entries were sold in Western Australia, four were purchased in South Australia, two were in Queensland and one was purchased in New South Wales.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3361 on 5 October 2013 were 27, 11, 8, 31, 21 and 6 with the supplementary numbers of 19 and 30.
There are more chances for Victorian players to win big this week with a $10 million jackpot on offer in Thursday’s Powerball draw!
