Penrith’s $1.4 million Megadraw win claimed by young family!

Wednesday 2 January, 2013 - A young family has come forward to claim their $1.4 million first division prize from Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw on the weekend!

The family won a total prize of $1,428,591.48 with an unregistered 18-game QuickPick entry purchased from Supanews Penrith, Shop 27 in Westfield Shoppingtown, Penrith.

As the entry was not registered to a NSW Lotteries Players Club card, the winner could not be contacted by officials to share the good news ahead of the New Year.

The winning mother was astounded when she checked her ticket today, and expressed her shock when speaking with a NSW Lotteries official afterwards.

“This ticket has just been sitting up on the fridge for a week,” she said.

“I hadn’t checked it because I honestly didn’t think we’d ever win, and I didn’t know there was a winning ticket sold in Penrith.

“There’s probably no better way to start the New Year. This prize money means we’ll be able to pay off our mortgage and look after our kids’ future.”

The winning family has chosen to remain anonymous.

There were four winning tickets in Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw purchased in New South Wales. Along with the Penrith prize, two winning syndicate tickets were sold from Canley Heights and Cabramatta and another individual won with a ticket purchased in Mt Druitt.

Throughout Australia, there were 21 winners who claimed a $1,428,571.43 first division share of Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw division one prize pool. Along with the four winning tickets purchased in New South Wales, there were five purchased in Victoria, four in Queensland, four in Western Australia, two in Tasmania and two in South Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw 3281 on 29 December 2012 were 25, 7, 35, 15, 37 and 14 with the supplementary numbers 20 and 3.
