Australia will be determined to put a lacklustre performance in the series opener behind them when they face Pakistan in the second of three Twenty20 internationals between the sides at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the early hours of Saturday morning (AEST). Only three Australian batsmen reached double figures in the opening game, with David Warner top scoring with 22. David Hussey , the highest runscorer in the history of Twenty20 cricket, is likely to be given a chance higher up the order as Australia continues its preparations for the World Twenty20. Mitchell Starc could also return after being left out for game one, despite collecting nine wickets from the three ODI matches, while evergreen spinner Brad Hogg is another likely inclusion.
Pakistan is unlikely to make any changes following their dominant display in the series opener, where the spinners were impossible to get away. Saeed Ajmal and debutant Raza Hasan had combined figures of 4-28 from their eight overs, while skipper Mohammad Hafeez also collected two wickets with his off spinners. Wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal top scored with 31* in his first Twenty20 International for more than two years. Imran Nazir looked dangerous on his reappearance for the national side and is capable of getting his side off to a quick start.
