Toowoomba newsagent sells winning Gold Lotto ticket!

Tuesday 4 September, 2012 - A Saturday Gold Lotto entry purchased in Toowoomba has won its owner almost half a million dollars!

The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, won a division one prize worth $494,404.11 with a recorded entry purchased from The Lucky Charm Clifford Gardens on Anzac Avenue in Toowoomba.

The Lucky Charm Clifford Gardens manager Sharon Burn said she was delighted her outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“I’ve been manager here for around two years, and I haven’t seen a win this big before,” she said.

“All the staff and our customers were very excited to hear about the prize.

“A lot of people have been commenting about the win in-store and buying their own tickets for this weekend’s draw!”

When asked what she might do if she’d won nearly half a million dollars last weekend, Sharon said she has a solid plan.

“I wouldn’t be working anymore,” she laughed.

“I’d retire, pay off the house and have a really good holiday.

“If the winner is anything like me they’ll be sharing the news with close family and friends and enjoying this moment,” she added.

“Congratulations to them and I really hope it will make their life better and just that little bit easier.”

Throughout Australia there were nine winners who shared in Saturday’s guaranteed $4 million division one prize pool. There were five winners in Queensland, three in Victoria and one in South Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3247 on 1 September 2012 were 9, 24, 31, 29, 19 and 28 with the supplementary numbers 5 and 15.
