Thursday 27 September, 2012 - It is the phone call all Lotto players dream of receiving and this morning that dream came true for a Rouse Hill local who received a call from a NSW Lotteries official with news of his $1,000,000 Wednesday Lotto win.
The winner, who has been a regular Lotto player for two years, was very calm as he let the good news sink in.
“I’m trying to take it all in, this is a big shock,” the winner, a single man in his thirties, said.
“Everyone dreams of winning Lotto at some stage but you never really think it’s going to happen to you.”
The winner said he is determined to make his $1 million windfall last.
“I’ll use the money to help my family and upgrade my house. I will take a holiday at some stage too. I won’t go too wild with my winnings though, I’ll be sensible and make the money last,” the young man said.
Rouse Hill’s newest millionaire scored the $1 million Wednesday Lotto division one prize with a six game entry made up of special birth dates and his lucky numbers. The winning entry cost just $3.30 and was sold from Rouse Hill Town Centre News, Rouse Hill.
The winning numbers in Wednesday Lotto, draw 3177, were 22, 32, 45, 2, 37 and 5 with the supplementary numbers 23 and 38.
The Lotto Strike division one prize has jackpotted to $1,170,000. Lotto Strike is an add-on game that is played with Monday, Wednesday and Saturday Lotto.
Lotto Strike’s division one prize is won by selecting the first four Lotto numbers in drawn order.
