Slam dunk for families who won $1.5 million in Echuca!

Monday 24 September, 2012 0 - A trip to Echuca for their children’s basketball tournament has paid dividends for three families who will split a first division prize of $1.5 million following TattsLotto’s $22 Million Superdraw!

The happy winners said they purchased their winning ticket from Echuca Square Lotto on a whim after one of the fathers in the group suggested they each contribute to the cost of a TattsLotto entry.

One of the winning women spoke with Tatts today on behalf of the group and said they were absolutely overwhelmed with the news.

“We were just sitting watching our kids play a basketball match when one of the fathers said it might be a good idea for each family to put in $5 for an entry in TattsLotto’s Superdraw,” she said.

“When he ran in to see us on Sunday morning saying we had the winning numbers, no one believed him!

“We all like to enter any big draws that come up in Tatts games, and this time it’s really paid off.”

It’s a slam dunk for the families who will split the prize money equally so they each receive more than half a million dollars from their $1,571,428.58 windfall.

“The general consensus among us is that we’ll each use the money to pay off our mortgages, have a good holiday, buy a new car and make some good investments for the future,” one of the winning women said.

“We haven’t told our kids who are playing in the basketball jamboree yet though – we didn’t want to put them off their game!”

The winners purchased their 24-game QuickPick entry from Echuca Square Lotto at 26 Nish Street, Echuca.

Throughout Australia, there were fourteen winners who shared in the $22 million Superdraw division one prize pool. There were four winners in Victoria, three in New South Wales, two in Queensland, three in Western Australia, one in South Australia and one in Tasmania.

The winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3253 on 22 September 2012 were 1, 19, 45, 34, 17 and 32 with the supplementary numbers 38 and 22.

Tatts Public Relations Executive Zoe Knobel said there could be more big winners this week, with large jackpots up for grabs in Oz Lotto and Powerball.

“This week Oz Lotto is offering $13 million, while the Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed to $30 million! Purchase your entry today for your chance to become the newest member of the Tatts millionaires club.”
