Monday 24 September 2012 - An Avoca Beach syndicate of 15 people shared a $1.5 million division one prize in Saturday Lotto’s $22 million Superdraw this weekend.
The syndicate run by Avoca Beach News and Post scored a division one share plus other divisional prizes amounting to $1,646,680.28, each lucky syndicate member will take home a $109,778.69 share of the prize.
Alex Miller from Avoca Beach News and Post said that this was one of the most popular syndicates he has ever run at the Outlet.
“I always set up a syndicate for the big Saturday Lotto Superdraws. I set this one up a week before the big draw and all 15 shares were sold-out on the Friday before the draw,” Mr Miller said.
“One of the best things about this win is that the shareholders are all local people and regular customers.
“The Avoca Beach community are delighted to see a big win come to the area and for the good fortune to be shared by local people,” Mr Miller added.
“This is the first division one prize we have ever sold from Avoca Beach News and Post and seeing it shared between locals makes it extra special for us,” Mr Miller said.
Fourteen winners shared Saturday Lotto’s $22 million Superdraw division one prize pool. Four of the winning tickets were sold in Victoria, three each in NSW and Western Australia, two in Queensland and one each in South Australia and Tasmania.
In NSW, along with the 15-share winning syndicate sold in Avoca Beach, a Tweed Heads couple and a mystery winner from Wetherill Park also enjoyed a division one wins.
The winning numbers from Saturday Lotto’s $22 million Superdraw, draw 3253, were 1, 19, 45, 34, 17 and 32 with the supplementary numbers 38 and 22.
NSW Lotteries Communications Executive Una O’Neill said there could be more big winners this week, with large jackpots up for grabs in Oz Lotto and Powerball.
