Clean living Reservoir retiree wins $500,000 in Wednesday Lotto!

Thursday 20 September, 2012 - A man from Reservoir was rendered speechless when he received a call from Tatts today telling him he’d won half a million dollars overnight!

The retired man claimed a first division prize of $501,019.10 in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3175.

The winner’s first response to the news was that he thought someone was playing a joke on him.

“You’re no one that I know are you?” he asked the Tatts representative on the phone.

“I’m shaking like a leaf!”

The man, in his late-60s, said he was so overcome with shock that he couldn’t even think about what he’d do with the money.

“I honestly don’t know, I’ve played with the same numbers for 20 years but it never occurred to me what I’d do if I won. I’ll just take one day at time, and speak with my financial advisor.”

The winner said he doesn’t have grand plans to celebrate the news.

“I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I don’t chase women – I don’t know what I’ll do!” he exclaimed.

“I’ll have to sit down with a cup of tea for now.”

The winner purchased his winning marked entry from Broadway Lotto at 238 Broadway, Reservoir.

The Reservoir man was one of four winners in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3175 on Wednesday 19 September, 2012, with another winner in Victoria, one in New South Wales and one in Western Australia.

The winning numbers were 7, 35, 3, 13, 25 and 19. The supplementary numbers were 24 and 37.

Tatts Public Relations Executive Zoe Knobel said she expects there will be more happy winners in Victoria this month.

“The $22 million Saturday TattsLotto Superdraw on 22 September is this weekend, so grab your entry today for your chance to win,” Ms Knobel said.

“Remember to register your entry to your Tatts Card so we can contact you to share the good news of a first division win.”
