Bonnyrigg local scored $500,000 Wednesday Lotto prize

Thursday 20 September, 2012 - It is the phone call all Lotto players dream of receiving and this morning that dream came true for a Bonnyrigg woman who received a call from a NSW Lotteries official with news of her $500,000 Wednesday Lotto win.

The winner, a regular Lotto player, became overwhelmed with emotion upon hearing the news.

“I can’t believe it,” the winner said between sobs.

“I have been playing Lotto since it started,” the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, revealed.

Bonnyrigg’s winnered scored a $500,000 division one Wednesday Lotto prize with a ten game entry made up of her favourite numbers.

The winning ticket was sold from Bonnyrigg Plaza Newsagency at Bonnyrigg Plaza Shopping Centre.

NSW Lotteries Communications Executive, Una O’Neill said that it is not unusual for winners to become emotional when they find out they have won a big prize.

“Being told you have won a division one Lotto prize is a huge shock for a winner and it is not uncommon for winners to shed a few tears when they receive the news,” Ms O’Neill said.

“It often takes a few days for a winner to come to terms with the reality of a big win. Despite checking and rechecking their ticket, it often takes until the prize has been paid for the winner to realise they are not dreaming,” Ms O’Neill added.

There is plenty of opportunity for Lotto players’ dreams to come true this weekend with Saturday Lotto’s $22 million Superdraw.

To be in with a chance of winning simply visit any NSW Lotteries outlet and pick up a ticket.

Four winners shared Wednesday Lotto’s $2 million division one prize, along with the Bonnyrigg winner; two winning tickets were sold in Victoria and one in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Wednesday Lotto, draw 3175, were 7, 35, 3, 13, 25 and 19 with the supplementary numbers 24 and 37.
