Monday 10 September, 2012 - A Dandenong family is in disbelief after claiming a division one share of $494,421.71 from the TattsLotto draw last Saturday, 1 September.
As the winning entry was not registered to a Tatts Card, Tatts officials had no way of immediately contacting the winners to share the good news.
The winning woman said she had clean forgotten to check her ticket for more than a week after the draw!
“The numbers we play are made up of family birthdays, and the ticket was actually bought for Father’s Day last weekend,” she explained.
“It was just sitting in the car this whole time, until my partner said to me, ‘Did you ever check that lotto ticket?’
“We’ve only been playing TattsLotto for four months so we never expected we might have won!”
The family has a few plans up their sleeve for how to spend their windfall of almost half a million dollars.
“We’ll definitely buy a new home and a new car,” said the mother-of-four.
“Then we’ll start planning a wedding.
“We’ve been dreaming about getting married and now we finally have the means to do that,” she beamed.
The winning 18-game marked entry was purchased for $11.75 from Lucky Strike Lotto at Richies Supermarket, 141-145 Lonsdale Street in Dandenong.
Throughout Australia there were nine winners who shared in last Saturday’s guaranteed $4 million division one prize pool. There were three winners in Victoria, five in Queensland and one in South Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3247 on 1 September 2012 were 9, 24, 31, 29, 19 and 28 with the supplementary numbers 5 and 15.
