Canberra’s thin top eight aspirations are on the line when they host a stuttering Brisbane Broncos side at home on Sunday afternoon. The Raiders need to win their remaining five games if they are a hope of featuring in finals football and that starts with a win over the Broncos on Sunday. Bronco’s workhorse Corey Parker is set to miss another week with an ongoing knee injury while skipper Sam Thaiday need’s to lift his work rate considerably in the absence of Parker after a disappointing display in Monday night’s loss to the Eels where he failed to lead by example.
– The Broncos will be confident of registering a win to revive their season after winning three consecutive games against the Raiders. Anthony Griffin hasn’t had much luck on the road this season recoding just one victory in the Broncos past four away games however the Broncos annihilated the Raiders in round six thanks to a dominant display from out of sorts five eight Corey Norman.
– Before losing to Newcastle last weekend the Raiders averaged 34 points in their past three games, the most of any team during that period. Blake Ferguson and Reece Robinson were largely responsible for the Raiders improved attack and need to fire if they are a chance of upsetting the Broncos. Brisbane fullback Josh Hoffman returns from suspension and is sure to add some potency to a struggling Broncos backline.
– It’s do or die for the Raiders and they will be heavily tested by a bolstered Brisbane side with Josh Hoffman proving the difference. Broncos 13+
