Friday 31 August, 2012 - A man who received a TattsLotto ticket for his birthday won a first division prize of $427,352.79 in last Saturday’s draw!
The winning entry was purchased from Million Dollar Lotto in Keysborough and given to the man as a gift for his 31st birthday, and it had slipped his mind to get it checked.
“The people who gave me this ticket in my birthday card are very close to me, they’re like a second set of parents,” he explained.
“They called me yesterday and reminded me to get the ticket checked as I’d forgotten about it.
“I never expected I’d win a first division prize with that ticket! I’ve often received cards with lotto tickets as a gift, but never experienced this!” he exclaimed.
The man said after he’d confirmed the win with Tatts he would contact the gift-givers and tell them the good news.
“I’ll help them out with the money as well, they’ve always been so good to me,” he added.
The man said there was one thing on the top of his list for how to spend the TattsLotto windfall.
“I’ll buy a house, first thing, then I might think about going on holiday in the future.”
The winning 18-game Super QuickPick entry was purchased for just $11.75 from Million Dollar Lotto, Shop D01 in Parkmore Shopping Centre, Keysborough.
This is the fifth division one lotto win for the outlet in just over two years across TattsLotto and Monday & Wednesday Lotto draws, worth a combined total of over $2.7 million, with the most recent being $666,666.67 won in Monday & Wednesday Lotto in June.
Ten winners shared TattsLotto’s $4 million division one prize pool last weekend, with four in Victoria, three in New South Wales, two in Western Australia and one in Tasmania.
The winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3245 on 25 August 2012 were 4, 21, 17, 27, 28 and 30 with the supplementary numbers 25 and 8.
