Mystery Brighton-Le-Sands Saturday Lotto winner claims prize one month after winning

Monday 27 August 2012 - A young Sandringham man came to the NSW Lotteries head office this afternoon to claim a $508,773.54 division one Saturday Lotto prize, one month after the draw took place on 28 July.

The winner was completely unaware that he was holding the winning ticket until this afternoon; claiming he forgets to check his tickets!

“I didn’t know I had won until today, I only check my tickets now and again when I remember to check them,” the young man told a NSW Lotteries official.

“I have been dreaming about winning for a long time, and I won a month ago and didn’t even know about it,” the winner laughed, shaking his head as he did so.

The young retail worker said that his Saturday Lotto win would boost his savings account to help him purchase a home.

“I will use the money to help my family. I have also been saving to buy a unit so this win will be a big help in making that dream happen a lot sooner than I thought possible,” the winner added.

The $508,773.54 winning ticket was sold from Brighton-Le-Sands Newsagency at 273 Bay Street, Brighton-Le-Sands.

Brighton-Le-Sands winner was one of eight winners that shared the $4 million division one prize pool in Saturday Lotto draw 3237 on 28 July 2012.
