St George will be hoping to extend North Queensland’s horror away from home record when they lock horns at WIN Stadium on Monday night. The Dragons finals hopes all but slipped away in last weekend’s 22-12 loss to Wests. The Cowboys are gunning for a top four berth with their impressive points difference yet will need to win at least two of their past three games to host a home semi-final. Dragons coach Steve Price has named out of sorts five eight Jamie Soward in his starting lineup despite much conjecture over Soward’s future as a Dragon while Neil Henry has opted to stick with Cowboys young gun Michael Morgan at halfback in place of Ray Thompson who slots in on the bench.

History – Results are split straight down the centre between these two sides with both teams recording eleven wins apiece from 22 games. WIN Stadium is a happy hunting ground for the Dragons who have won six of the nine games played against the Cowboys at this venue. A rampaging Jonathon Thurston steered the Cowboys to an emphatic 30-6 win against St George in round nine this season.

Dangermen – There isn’t many more dangerous players in the competition the Dragons winger Brett Morris . Morris’s form has exploded since returning to his favoured win position and is easily the Dragons top try scorer with thirteen for the season. Cowboys winger Ash Graham made a successful return in last weekend scoring a hat trick in the Cowboys 52-12 thumping over the Warriors

Prediction – The Cowboys need to overcome a poor record in Sydney if they are any chance of making noise in September. Cowboys 1-12 .
