Buchanan won the Time Trial at the UCI BMX World Championships in May, and her showed liking for racing in England with a blistering lap around the Olympic circuit to restate her claim to being favourite for the event.

Beijing gold medallist Steve Hooker  will be out to defend his title in the Men’s Pole Vault final after easing his way into the final with a faultless performance in qualifying, while Ky Hurst  lines up in the Men’s 10km Marathon swim at Hyde Park.

Following the postponement of yesterday's action from the sailing regatta at Weymouth and Portland, Australia can secure another sailing gold medal when Matthew Belcher and Malcolm Page  contest themedal race in the Men's 470 class.
