Toowoomba family to share $1.25 million Gold Lotto win!

Friday 6 July, 2012 - Nearly one full week after Saturday Gold Lotto’s $30 million Mid-Year Megadraw, a Toowoomba family has come forward to claim their $1.25 million share of the prize pool!

The winning father said he was alerted to the fact there was a mystery Gold Lotto millionaire in Toowoomba after reading an article in the local newspaper.

“I picked up the paper the other day and saw one of the winners still hadn’t claimed their prize and I thought, ‘Gee, I wonder could that be me?’,” he said.

“It’s just one of those things you hope and hope will happen, but when it does, you’re in shock!” he exclaimed.

The man said the money will be shared around the family and that he couldn’t wait to tell them the news.

The 36-game Jumbo QuickPick ticket was purchased from The Lucky Charm Toowoomba, Shop 2 in Kmart Plaza.

As the entry was not registered to a Winners Circle card, Golden Casket was unable to contact the winner with the good news after the draw.

Throughout Australia 24 winners shared the $30 million division one prize pool in Saturday Gold Lotto’s Mid-year Megadraw. Along with three winning tickets sold in Queensland, nine were sold in Victoria, six in New South Wales, four in South Australia and two in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3229 were 40, 37, 30, 33, 32 and 8 with the supplementary numbers 14 and 34. There were also 227 division two winners who took home $8,548.70 each.
