Skye couple laugh with relief after $1.25 million win!

Wednesday 4 July, 2012 - A couple from Skye have their heads in the clouds after discovering they’d won a $1.25 million share in Saturday’s TattsLotto $30 million Mid-Year Megadraw!

The middle-aged couple said they aren’t regular TattsLotto players but had a good feeling about the weekend’s draw so purchased a 50-game QuickPick entry.

“My husband checked the numbers and he just started screaming!” exclaimed the winning woman.

“He works very hard so it’s such a relief for us that with this money he can slow down a bit now.”

The couple had never thought about what to do with such a windfall, but some early plans are underway.

“We’d like to help our family, pay off our house and take a holiday to visit some other family members,” the winning woman said.

“We’re so happy now that we’re laughing!”

The winning numbers were on line 31 of the couple’s 50-game ticket, which has now become a special omen for them.

“Our lucky number is now 31, we’ll always remember that.”

The winning entry was purchased from Clarinda Lotto, News & Interpost on Bourke Road, Clarinda.

As the winning ticket was not registered to a Tatts Card holder, Tatts had no way of contacting the winners after the draw to tell them the good news.

Throughout Australia 24 winners shared the $30 million division one prize pool in Saturday’s TattsLotto Mid-year Megadraw. Nine winning tickets were sold in Victoria, six in New South Wales, four in South Australia, three in Queensland and two in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3229 were 40, 37, 30, 33, 32 and 8 with the supplementary numbers 14 and 34. There were also 227 division two winners who took home $8,548.70 each.
