Avondale Heights retiree is generous with $1.25 million win

Wednesday 4 July, 2012 - A man from Avondale Heights is delighted to be named one of the country’s newest millionaires following Saturday’s TattsLotto $30 million Mid-Year Megadraw!

The retiree said that after 11 years of playing TattsLotto he’s very pleased he won a first division prize of $1.25 million.

“There’s not much I can say about it, I’m rapt!” he exclaimed.

“I’ve had no luck until now so it’s really good news for me.”

The man said he will share the prize money with people he cares about.

“I’m going to help a few close friends with the money, they’ve been in a fairly poor state lately,” he said.

“It’s about time I help them out as they’ve helped me throughout my life.

“They need a bit of luck.”

The man said he has a few plans for the immediate future.

“I’m going to go on a nice holiday somewhere, not overseas though, I like Australia."

“I’ll also buy myself a house I’d say."

“Then I’ll buy two cars; one for me, and one for my friend.”

The winning entry was purchased from Milleara Mall Lotto, Kiosk 43 on the corner of Milleara Road and Buckley Street in Keilor East.

As the winning ticket was not registered to a Tatts Card holder, Tatts had no way of contacting the winner after the draw to tell them the good news.

Throughout Australia 24 winners shared the $30 million division one prize pool in Saturday’s TattsLotto Mid-year Megadraw. Nine winning tickets were sold in Victoria, six in New South Wales, four in South Australia, three in Queensland and two in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3229 were 40, 37, 30, 33, 32 and 8 with the supplementary numbers 14 and 34. There were also 227 division two winners who took home $8,548.70 each.
