The Brisbane Broncos will be without the services of a number of big guns heading into their round 21 Monday night clash against Parramatta at Suncorp Stadium. Electric fullback Josh Hoffman is suspended for one week, opting to take an early guilty plea and a one match suspension for a late hit on the Titans Luke Bailey. Justin Hodges will also be absent after reinjuring his hamstring in the final minutes of last weekend’s loss to the Titans. Parramatta will be confident of securing a result against the Broncos after knocking off the top of the table storm last weekend.
History – The Broncos have won five of their past seven games against the Eels including a 18-6 round one win this season. Parramatta struggle when travelling to Brisbane having won only four games in fifteen visits to Suncorp Stadium. The Eels were successful in their most recent outing to Suncorp recording a huge 30-14 win in round 23, 2010.
Dangermen – Brisbane’s Gerard Beale is in career best form adding plenty of options to the Broncos attack. Beale has shifted to the centres for the injured Justin Hodges and should add a new dimension to a struggling Brisbane backline. Eels winger Ken Sio has been Parramatta’s most consistent performer this season already cross for eleven tries in a struggling side.
Prediction – It will be hard for the Eels to back up after last week’s emotional victory over the Storm. The Broncos received a much nedded reality check against the Titans and should win easily in front of a huge home crowd. Broncos 13+ .
