Goulburn work syndicate of 14 share $1 million Lotto win

Tuesday 24 July, 2012 - A syndicate of 14 colleagues from a Goulburn business are celebrating news of their Monday Lotto $1 million division one win in last week’s draw.

The syndicate leader, a Players Club member, received notification from NSW Lotteries of the win on Monday morning by mail. Unfortunately NSW Lotteries officials were unable to contact the winner by telephone last week as the player’s registered phone number was not up-to-date.

The syndicate leader said there was lots of excitement when he broke news of the win to his fellow colleagues.

“I called the syndicate members into the tea room and broke the news to them. There was great excitement, people were laughing, crying and hugging each other,” he said.

“We each put in about $30 every two months and sometimes use the money we win to play. We get one game in each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday Lotto each every week and have been using the same numbers for 27 years,” the syndicate leader added.

The lucky syndicate also won the $1 million division one prize plus additional divisional prizes amounting to $1,004,372.95, which means each syndicate share is worth $71,740.92.

The $1 million winning ticket was sold from First Inland City Newsagency at 140-144 Auburn Street, Goulburn.

The winning numbers in Monday Lotto, draw 3156, were 38, 13, 19, 9, 21 and 4 with the supplementary numbers 2 and 31.
