Man claims unregistered $1.25 million Neutral Bay Lotto win

Monday 2 July, 2012 - The owner of an unregistered $1.25 million winning ticket, purchased in Neutral Bay, came forward to claim his prize this morning.

The winner scored a $1.25 million share of Saturday Lotto’s $30 million mid-year Megadraw division one prize pool.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning ticket from Neutral Bay Newsagency at 6 Young Street, Neutral Bay.

Following discovering his good fortune earlier this morning the winner came forward to claim his big win from NSW Lotteries.

The winner said he is in no doubt about how he will use his winnings.

“I’ll be investing the money for the future,” the happy winner told a NSW Lotteries official.

The winner scored his $1.25 million prize with an 18 game Super QuickPick entry which cost just $11.80.

Of the 24 winning tickets that shared Saturday Lotto’s $30 million mid-year Megadraw division one prize pool, six of the winning tickets were sold in NSW. One of the NSW winning tickets was registered and five unregistered.

The registered winning ticket was purchased in Sydney’s CBD and the unregistered winning tickets were sold in Tumut, Neutral Bay, Rhodes, Hammondville and Broadway.

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Una O’Neill said that three of the unregistered winners are yet to claim their prize.

“The owners of the unregistered winning tickets sold in Neutral Bay and Rhodes have claimed their prize, but the mystery winners from Tumut, Hammondville and Broadway are yet to come forward,” Ms O’Neill said.

“If you purchased your Saturday Lotto $30 million mid-year Megadraw ticket in any of these three locations, please check your tickets as soon as possible, you may be a $1.25 million winner,” Ms O’Neill added.

Along with the six winning NSW tickets, nine winning tickets were sold in Victoria, four in South Australia, three in Queensland and two in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto, draw 3229, were 40, 37, 30, 33, 32 and 8 with the supplementary numbers 14 and 34.
