Lotto luck continues to shine on regional Victorian towns!

Monday 4 June, 2012 - A Wangaratta man was euphoric when he received a phone call from Tatts this morning confirming he’d won more than $1.4 million in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw 3221.

The registered Tatts player said he’d checked the draw results online over the weekend but didn’t believe it was real until he answered the phone and was told he had won a first division prize of $1,416,306.96.

“I’m absolutely rapt!” he exclaimed when he heard the good news.

“I checked those numbers over and over again so I’m just stoked that it now feels real.”

The winner said he doesn’t have any firm plans for how to spend his windfall yet, except that it may help him ease into retirement in future.

“It’s a good retirement nest egg so that might be the best way to use the money,” he said.

The winning QuickPick entry was purchased from Wangaratta Lotto, Card & Tobacconist on Reid Street in Wangaratta.

Wangaratta Lotto, Card & Tobacconist owner Anthony D’Agostino said the win is great news for both the winner and the town.

“This kind of thing is really good for smaller communities – it will reinvigorate residents of the town after we’ve seen a fair bit of doom and gloom lately,” he said.

“Locals know us as ‘The Lucky Shop’ as we’ve sold several first division winning entries over the past few years.”

The Wangaratta win comes exactly one week after a TattsLotto ticket purchased in nearby Shepparton won a first division prize of $539,405.89.

There were three division one winners nationally in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3221 on 2 June 2012. There was one division one winning entry purchased in Victoria, with one each in Western Australia and South Australia.

The winning numbers were 18, 31, 43, 36, 17 and 6 with supplementary numbers 33 and 13. There were also 58 division two winners who took home $9,951.30 each.
