Parramatta spearhead Jarryd Hayne will need to be at his best when his side takes on the Sharks at Parramatta Stadium on Monday night. The Eels superstar was one of NSW’s best players in their loss to QLD a week ago and is capable of sparking a struggling Parramatta attack. The Sharks are fresh from a bye with key duo Paul Gallen and Todd Carney returning from the origin arena.
– It’s hard to imagine that these two teams played only six weeks ago when the Eels squandered a first half lead to go down 24-18 at Shark Park. The Eels have struggled against the Sharks in recent seasons winning just two of their past five games against the boys from the Shire. The Sharks however have an unhappy record at Parramatta Stadium losing five of their past six games.
– Now is the time for Parramatta star Jarryd Hayne to stamp his prescence on the 2012 season. The Parramatta fullback is pivotal to any revival of the Eels season. Cronulla centre Ben Pomeroy continues to evolve into a great strike weapon and leads the Sharks try scoring list with six tries for the season.
– Parramatta are desperate and when sides are desperate they show their true colours. The eels are capable of winning when tested and show so after defeating 2011 premiers Manly in round five. Cronulla have been impressive this season but the question is whether they can find another gear during the origin period. Parramatta 1-12 .
