It’s not long until the curtain is opened on the biggest sporting event ever, the 2012 London games. All eyes will descend on London when arguably the world’s greatest athlete Usain Bolt contests the mens 100m. Bolt is the fastest man ever recording a world record 9.58 seconds in Germany 2009 and will be out to better his own world record. The flamboyant Jamaican will enter the Games as favourite, however countryman Blake Yohan is also a genuine medal chance after clocking a personal best time of 9.82 seconds in Zurich last year and beating Bolt at the Jamaican Olympic trials earlier in the year.
Beijing bronze medallist Walter Dix will fly the American flag along with Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin . Australia’s hopes will rest on veteran Joshua Ross whose PB is 10.08 seconds.
