England  and Australia  resume hostilities when they meet in game one of their five match One Day International series at Lord’s. England is coming off the back of six straight ODI series wins at home and will be full of confidence after winning six straight games leading into this contest.

With Kevin Pietersen’s retirement, Alistair Cook  will be partnered at the top of the order by the in-form Ian Bell , who struck 126 and 53 from his two knocks at the top of the list against the West Indies earlier this month.

Shane Watson  and David Warner  will form a dynamic opening partnership  for the tourists, while England will get their first look at nineteen year old tearaway Pat Cummins .

Australia warmed up with an effortless 179 run win over Essex in a tour match on Tuesday and has a good record at Lord’s. They have won the past four 50 over matches against the old enemy at the ground and haven’t lost there since 1997.
