Queensland will be bidding for an unprecedented seventh consecutive series success when they face New South Wales in the State of Origin series decider at Suncorp Stadium. Despite being without explosive fullback Billy Slater, the Maroons still retain the core of the side that they have had so much success with. Skipper Cameron Smith, Jonathan Thurston and veteran forward Petero Civoniceva will all have important roles to play in Brisbane, while Queensland will also be boosted by the return of hard running second rower Sam Thaiday.
Following their 16-12 win at ANZ Stadium in game two, the Blues have named an extended nineteen man squad for the crunch clash with Tony Williams returning to the squad after missing the most recent match through injury. Beau Scott and Brett Morris have also earned recalls, with the latter set to start on the wing in place of Akuila Uate, who was dropped after his shortcomings in defence and under the high ball were exposed in the opening two matches.
