Reigning 2011 F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel can enter the history books by recording his third straight win in the F1 world Championship at Valencia on Sunday morning. By his standards the German has had a quiet start to his 2012 campaign, winning one race in Bahrain and recording only one other podium finish, a second in Australia. The Opening seven races of the season have seen seven different winners proving the closeness of this year’s competition.
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton leads the title race and will hope for a solid performance on the Valencia street circuit, while two-time European Grand Prix winner Fernando Alonso sits in outright second. Australia’s Mark Webber isn’t far off the pace in fourth position behind Vettel and is every chance of a podium in Valencia after winning the Monaco Grand Prix earlier in the season. The Streets of Valencia have been a happy hunting ground for former world number one Michael Shumacher who has won the event an astonishing six times.
