Fresh from a bye, Adelaide  will be out to continue their fine 2012 form when they face St Kilda  at AAMI Stadium on Friday night. At the halfway mark of the season they have won eight of their ten matches after being victorious on just seven occasions in all of 2011.

While the Crows are undoubtedly on the rise, many predicted that the Saints would struggle this year yet they find themselves in the top eight. They should be strengthened this week by the returns of Sam Fisher and Ben McEvoy, who have been out of action for over a month.

Where It Will be Won – Both of these sides boast hard working midfielders and also have strong marking forwards that can have a big influence on the outcome of a game. St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt  and Adelaide’s Taylor Walker  rank third and sixth respectively in the AFL for marks inside 50 and will be the focal point of their sides attack. Riewoldt had his best game of the year when kicking seven goals against the Gold Coast last weekend, while Walker has kicked five or more goals in three of his eight games in 2012.

Prediction – St Kilda has a woeful record in South Australia, having won just four of their past fifteen away matches against Adelaide. The most clash between the pair may have resulted in a 103 point win for the Saints at Etihad Stadium in round 18 last year but it is highly unlikely that it will be a similar result this time around. The Crows will be refreshed from a week off and will be too good for their visitors. Adelaide 40+
