Gold Lotto millionaire recreates scene from Hollywood movie

Thursday 31 May, 2012 - A Surfers Paradise man couldn’t believe his luck when he received a phone call from Golden Casket informing him he’d won $1 million in last night’s Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3220.

The man in his 40s said he was shocked and overcome by the news as he’s been unable to work for several years and has mounting medical bills.

“You’re having a lend of me!” the winning man exclaimed when he first heard the news.

“I was in a car accident at work years ago and had no idea how we’d pay for my latest operation".

“My wife and I have been under a lot of financial stress lately – we’re almost bankrupt. This money couldn’t have come at a better time.”

When asked what he planned on doing to celebrate, the man said there was one thing on the top of his list.

“I’m on my way to pick up my wife,” the winner beamed.

“I always said to her that if I win lotto, I’d do the scene from ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’ and walk into her work, pick her up and carry her out.”

Once he’s put her back on her feet and they’ve both recovered from the shock of the win, the couple plan to buy their own home.

The winning man purchased his Wednesday Gold Lotto 6-game recorded entry for just $3.30 online from Tatts.com.

He said the six winning numbers he’d chosen were very special to him.

“I’m glad the numbers we picked together were the ones that won. Thanks for the best news of my life.”

The winning numbers in Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3220 on Wednesday 30 May, 2012 were 31, 12, 38, 42, 7 and 20 with supplementaries 39 and 1.

The Surfers Paradise man was the sole division one winner of last night’s draw. There were also five division two winners who took home $40,106.85 each thanks to Golden Casket’s triple dividends promotion for draw 3220 giving winners of divisions two to five triple the prize money.
