TattsLotto win will allow Victorian man to finally retire

Monday 28 May, 2012 - A family from Melbourne’s northern suburbs has started the week half a million dollars richer after winning a share of Saturday’s TattsLotto draw 3219.

The lucky winners have claimed a division one prize of $539,405.89 from an 18-game QuickPick entry which cost them $11.75.

The winning woman said she and her husband were shocked when they saw that the numbers on their ticket matched the draw results in the newspaper.

“My husband said to me, ‘Look…I’ve got all six numbers’, then he had to tell me to stop screaming and jumping!” she exclaimed.

“We couldn’t sleep at all that night, we were so excited!”

She said their TattsLotto windfall will allow them to ease into retirement.

“This money will make things easier. Now my husband can cut his work hours in half and make plans to retire at 70-years-old.

“The only lavish thing we’ll buy will be a new car, then we’ll be able to help pay for our daughter’s wedding as a gift to her.”

The family purchased their winning entry from Station Street Lotto on Station Street in Thornbury.

The northern suburbs family was one of eight division one winners nationally in Saturday TattsLotto draw 3219 on 26 May 2012. They were one of three winners in Victoria, with another two in Queensland, two in South Australia and one in Western Australia.

The winning numbers were 13, 38, 36, 37, 10 and 22 with supplementary numbers 28 and 42. There were also 61 division two winners who took home $9,594.55 each.

Public Relations Executive Zoe Knobel said Tatts is still waiting for one of the Victorian winners to come forward who purchased their entry at Upper Ferntree Gully Authorised News in Ferntree Plaza.

“Unfortunately the winner had not registered their entry to a Tatts Card so we’re unable to contact them to share the good news!

“If you purchased your ticket from Upper Ferntree Gully Authorised News, check your numbers today and you could be the winner we’re looking for.”
