Sunshine Coast man is a Wednesday Gold Lotto millionaire!

Friday 25 May, 2012 - A Sunshine Coast man woke up a millionaire on Thursday after his numbers came up in Wednesday night’s Gold Lotto draw 3218, but he didn’t even know it.

It wasn’t until last night that the man checked the draw results in the newspaper and discovered that he
was a first division winner and had won $1,000,000!

“I thought, that’s funny, the newspaper has the same numbers as the ones on my ticket,” said the man in disbelief.

“I was fairly calm while I checked them all off, then I thought, I wonder what I’m going to do now?”
The father said he’s been playing lotto for 40 years and has won several smaller prize amounts, but said
this was the one he’d been waiting for.

“I’ll continue working for some time, but I will be able to do a lot more travelling which I’m looking forward to,” he said.

“I’ll also help out my family and secure my financial future which might involve buying property.”
The winning man purchased his 12-game recorded entry for $6.60 from Pelican Waters Newsagency in
the Pelican Waters Shopping Village.

The Pelican Waters Newsagency is a hotspot for Golden Casket first division prizes, having sold five division one winning tickets across Wednesday Gold Lotto and Saturday Gold Lotto in the last five years, with prizes totalling over $5.3 million.

The winning numbers in Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3218 on Wednesday 23 May, 2012 were 42, 12, 28, 21, 26, 10 with supplementaries 32 and 44.

There were two first division winners in the draw who each claimed $1 million, with one hailing from the
Sunshine Coast and the other from Brisbane. There were also 11 division two winners who took home $3,027.30 each.

Public Relations Executive Zoe Knobel said Golden Casket is offering players the chance to win triple
dividends in divisions two to five in next week’s Wednesday Gold Lotto draw on 30 May.

“That means a division two prize of $3,000 automatically becomes $9,000! Buy a JUMBO QuickPick in next week’s Wednesday Gold Lotto for 36 chances to win triple the prize money in divisions two to five.”
