Pensioner from Geelong West has claimed $24.9 million

Monday 14 May, 2012 - A humble pensioner from Geelong West has claimed a division one prize of $24.9 million from last week’s $70 million Super 7’s Oz Lotto draw 951.

The winner is only an occasional Super 7’s Oz Lotto player and couldn’t believe his luck when he saw all seven of his numbers had been drawn on Tuesday, giving him a $24,952,195.76 share of the mammoth $70 million division one jackpot prize pool.

The man purchased his ticket on a whim from Murphy’s Newsagency on Pakington Street in Geelong West while running errands in town.

“I was very moved when I discovered I was one of the winners,” he said.

“The first thing I thought of was how I could help my family. I want to make sure they’re looked after.

“I suppose I can live more comfortably now too.”

Tatts spokesperson Zoe Knobel it was great that the mystery winner has come forward and was so gracious in accepting the life-changing Super 7’s Oz Lotto division one dividend prize.

“The winner from Geelong West is truly deserving of such a wonderful prize and we’re very pleased we have spoken with him about his winning experience.

“As the ticket was not registered to a Tatts Card, we had no way of knowing who the winner was, or contacting them to tell them the amazing news,” she said.

Three winners across three states shared last Tuesday night’s $70 million Super 7’s Oz Lotto jackpot. The other two division one winning tickets were purchased in Sydney and Adelaide.

The winning numbers in Super 7’s Oz Lotto’s $70 million draw (951) were 17, 8, 28, 34, 41, 42 and 6. Supplementary numbers were 4 and 19.

Super 7’s Oz Lotto will offer a $2 million division one prize in next week’s draw. Lotto players still have an opportunity to win big this week with a $25 million Powerball draw on Thursday night.
